CBD Oil is derived from hemp, which is in the cannabis family. CBD Oil is anti-inflammatory - which is why it's a helpful, healthy supplement like other food products which are known to help with inflammation: olive oil, fatty fish, berries, avocado and turmeric (to name a few.)

Relief of pain and inflammation are two commonly recognized therapeutic properties of cannabis. In fact, before modern aspirin was invented (1890's), CBD was a very common choice for pain relief.

The amazing thing about CBD Oil is that it seems to have remarkable healing properties for nerves and joints. There are many personal stories of how CBD helped people when nothing else gave them relief.

CBD health benefits include:

  • Improves overall health
  • Helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels
  • Supports optimal cardiovascular health
  • Helps improve joint pain and discomfort
  • Helps support healthy weight loss
  • Supports healthy skin
  • Promotes healthy digestion
  • Maintains healthy immune functions
  • Supports healthy energy levels
  • Helps calm nerves and stabilize moods
  • Useful as a sleep aid

CBD Oil is derived from hemp: which is in the cannabis family, but hemp is not marijuana. CBD Oil contains only trace amounts of THC, which is the hallucinogenic ingredient in marijuana.

THC in marijuana can be addictive. But CBD Oil only has trace amounts of THC, and CBD has no intoxicating effects. CBD oil is non-addictive.

This article (link below) explains more about what CBD is, and is a good overall explanation of concerns surrounding CBD Oil:

CBD from hemp is available in various forms. You can buy it as a THC-free oil, or you can choose Full-Spectrum CBD. Full-spectrum CBD means that you're getting all the cannabinoids, phytocannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids found in Hemp. The full-spectrum oil is green because of all the hemp goodies that are in it.

When you select full-spectrum CBD you are getting all the beneficial compounds in the same ratios as Nature intended.  Experts believe a full-spectrum CBD Oil provides what’s called an Entourage Effect. Simply, this effect occurs when all the components of the hemp plant work together (synergy) to enhance and activate each other, thus increasing and intensifying the health benefits.

Full-spectrum CBD has only trace amounts of THC and cannot make you high.

When you buy CBD Oil that is THC-free, it is not full-spectrum.

  • Very low toxicity of CBD in humans. Unlike the psychoactive properties associated with Δ9-THC (medical marijuana), CBD oil has been shown to have very low toxicity in humans and in other species.

  • SafetyA comprehensive safety and side effect review of CBD in 2016 on both animal and human studies described an excellent safety profile of CBD in humans at a wide variety of doses.

  • CBD – better safety profile vs. other cannabinoids. CBD also has a better safety profile compared to other cannabinoids, such as THC. For instance, high doses of CBD are well tolerated in animals and humans. In contrast to THC, CBD does not alter heart rate, blood pressure, or body temperature, does not... alter psychomotor or psychological functions.

The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has approved CBD Oil for a very limited list of medical conditions, and it is inappropriate to make any specific claims of what CBD Oil can do.

  • More than 10,000 research studies have been done with CBD oil and the results are very promising.
  • You can read the results of these research studies for yourself at the link below:

WHO Report

The World Health Organization has been very positive about CBD, stating in a 2017 report that CBD is safe and there's not much chance for abuse or addiction. Here are excerpts from the WHO report:

  • In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.
  • CBD has been demonstrated as an effective treatment of epilepsy in several clinical trials.
  • There is also preliminary evidence that CBD may be a useful treatment for a number of other medical conditions.
  • There is unsanctioned medical use of CBD based products with oils, supplements, gums, and high concentration extracts available online for the treatment of many ailments.
  • CBD is generally well tolerated with a good safety profile.
  • Reported adverse effects may be as a result of drug-drug interactions between CBD and patients’ existing medications.
  • Several countries have modified their national controls to accommodate CBD as a medicinal product.
  • To date, there is no evidence of recreational use of CBD or any public health-related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.

CBD Oil is helping the joint pain in my hands and feet. There is huge improvement, with a very low dose.  I'm using CBD balm at bedtime for restless leg syndrome (potential sleep aid too.) The oral CBD drops are helping with essential tremors.

My Mom has had terrible back spasms for years (due to a car accident) and CBD balm has given her far more relief than anything else we're tried. I've found that topical CBD is very effective.

Recently I used my cinnamon CBD on some fire ant bites, which calmed the bites down within seconds and they never did flare up again. Anyone who has had fire ant bites knows how they are usually troublesome for days! (I used the cinnamon flavor simply because it was handy and I was desperate. )

Before I tried CBD oil, I read many online customer reviews, which give amazing testimonies. No wonder there's so much interest in CBD oil! The personal stories are what convinced me to try it.

Hemp seed oil is NOT the same as full-spectrum CBD Hemp oil. Hemp seed oil has no cannabinoids: it does not have CBD or THC. Hemp seed oil is being used in a wide variety of new products, including food products, beauty creams and body oils.

  • You can buy hemp seeds and hemp seed oil for cooking.
  • Hemp seeds are high in protein.
  • The hemp seed oil is high in unsaturated fats.
  • Both the seeds and the oil are high in antioxidants and contain the perfect ratio of Omegas 3, 6 and 9.

CBD full-spectrum hemp oil comes from a specific strain of hemp plant (Cannabis Sativa) known as PCR Hemp oil, which is extracted from the plant rather than the seeds. There are hundreds of cannabinoids, phytocannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids found in Hemp and when you select a Full-Spectrum you are getting all these beneficial compounds in the same ratios as Nature intended.

  • Entourage Effect. Experts believe a Full-Spectrum CBD Oil provides what’s called an Entourage Effect. Simply, this effect occurs when all the components of the hemp plant work together (synergy) to enhance and activate each other, thus increasing and intensifying the health benefits.
  • Cost. Recently I bought some scented hemp seed oil for body lotion. It cost $10 for 8 oz. Whereas, CBD cannabidiol full-spectrum hemp oil costs at least $40 for 1 oz of low dose CBD tincture, and the price goes up from there depending on strength. CBD full spectrum hemp oil is much more expensive than hemp seed oil products.
  • Carrier Oils. CBD oil is mixed with hemp seed oil, MCT (coconut oil), avocado or other types of carrier oils to activate bioavailability and digestion.

It's easy for scammers to take advantage of the confusing new array of hemp products that are available. The best thing to do is find a reputable CBD full-spectrum hemp oil brand.

Medical Marijuana is cannabis oil that is extracted from the marijuana plant (Cannabis Indicas.)

  • Medical Marijuana contains high levels of THC or Tetrahydrocannabinols, the chemical responsible for most of marijuana’s psychological or “psychoactive” effects.
  • Cannabis Indicas has very low levels of CBD.
  • Medical Marijuana is ILLEGAL in most states unless it has been issued by a medical doctor for medicinal purposes and/or by state laws that allow for marijuana as a recreational drug.

The US Hemp Authority has certified a few CBD Oil brands that have been tested for quality. This is a self-regulation authority, which means that these companies have volunteered their products for regulation. There are 17 brands that are certified as of 6/8/2019.

Because quality assurance is probably the biggest problem in the CBD industry at this time, I recommend that people only buy from brands which are on the US Hemp Authority list, or from CBD companies that can provide up-to-date evidence of third-party lab testing.

This link will take you to the Hemp Authority website:

A news station in Los Angeles collected almost 20 different brands of CBD products from local stores and took them to a lab to be tested. Of the CBD brands tested, only 4 products contained what was on the label. Some products had no CBD at all. One product was contaminated with e-coli.

Because CBD oil is expensive, it seems to be an opportunity for scammers. In fact, finding quality CBD seems to be the biggest problem with this emerging industry.

Here is a link to the Fox10 special report:

The THC in marijuana can be addictive. But CBD Oil only has trace amounts of THC, and it has no intoxicating effects. CBD oil is non-addictive.

  • CBD oil may interact with prescription medications such as blood thinners or thyroid medications.
  • Any drug that is metabolized by the liver may have interactions (including alcoholic beverages.)
  • Not all interactions are bad; some interactions might be good.
  • Here is a website that lists drugs which may have interactions with CBD oil.
  • If you are taking prescription meds you should check with your doctor before using CBD.
  • Some people take their CBD oil at a different time than medications (more than 30 minutes difference.)

Will CBD oil show up in drug screen testing?

      • Most drug tests are looking for THC, the hallucinogenic ingredient in cannabis. However, some drug tests look for more than just THC, so you should know what you're being tested for.
      • CBD Oil contains only trace amounts of THC.
      • It is possible to buy CBD oil that is completely free of THC.
      • Studies show that CBD can stay in your system for several days.

However, if you are subject to drug screen testing we do not recommend that you take CBD Oil because there will always be some risk.

According to Federal law (the 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills), it is legal to sell hemp-based products in all 50 states. However, some states have not fully approved CBD oil unless it is zero-THC. So although we can ship CBD anywhere in the USA (as well as a long list of countries around the world) you should know what the rules are for your state.

  • There are currently three states in the USA that have taken a strong stance against CBD: Idaho, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

The 2014 and 2018 Farm Bills made it legal to grow hemp in the USA. Hemp was banned for almost 50 years, but hemp is actually a very important commodity that has been popular and useful since ancient times. As I've learned about hemp, I think it's a shame our country has not been able to take advantage of all that hemp can offer, until now.

CBD Oil is available as tincture (oil drops), topical cream, gummies, coffee, shampoos... in fact, the list of CBD products is growing every day. If you're serious about using CBD for health reasons, I think the oil tincture (sublingual drops) or the topical creams are probably the most effective. I am currently doing research for brands that are 1.) Top Quality and 2.) Reasonably Priced. Stay tuned...
